The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) is a non-partisan watchdog agency in Washington DC that frequently comments on issues related to the federal debt, runaway deficit spending, and reform of entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare.  In the analysis here related to release of The Social Security Trustees Report of 2019, Maya MacGuineas, President of CRFB, details what insolvency means.  A number of excellent, interactive links are included that explain comprehensive reform plans, a Social Security reformer tool that lets one choose how to solve the problem, and lastly, an interactive How Old Will You Be When Social Security’s Funds Run Out? that allows individuals to determine what they stand to lose under current law.

The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) also advocates for a strengthening of Social Security and has developed a bipartisan compromise bill, titled “The Social Security Guarantee Act,” taking selected portions of bills introduced by Rep. Sam Johnson (R-TX) and Rep. John Larson (D-CT) and merging them with the Association’s original legislative framework to create the new Act.  AMAC is resolute in its mission to get the attention of lawmakers in DC, meeting with a great many congressional offices and their legislative staffs over the past several years.  Learn more about AMAC’s Social Security Guarantee here…
