According to a post on wfmd.com, this emerging threat accounted for “…$893 million in AI-related scam losses in 2025, with victims 60 and over accounting for $352 million.” And, as expected, Social Security numbers continue to be a fundamental target for scammers to hit Americans 60 and over, a group that incurred the highest volume of financial losses — $7.7 billion in 2025, according to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center.
