Full Retirement Age Matters

Pity that so many Americans think you just start Social Security at age 62 and then forget about it.  If only people knew that means a pay cut of up to 30%.  Authors Emily Guy Birken and John Schmidt explain what full retirement age is and what it means as far a benefits are concerned in this Forbes piece.  They use numerous examples, all showing that as ling as one lives to near average life expectancy it pays large sums to wait longer to collect, even up to age 70.  Full article here.
