It’s been about a week since President-elect Trump nominated Frank Bisignano to take over leadership of the massive Social Security Administration, and there’s been a bit of speculation regarding the magnitude of the challenges he’ll face. With an organization of roughly 60,000 employees serving a system involving more than 71 million beneficiaries, it’s fair to say that there are quite a few moving parts, internally and externally, drawing attention. And perhaps the biggest of these moving parts is the steady erosion of Social Security’s financial reserves and the looming insolvency point projected to be reached in less than a decade.
