House Passes Johnson Measure to Protect Social Security

In the first day of the new 114th Congress, the House passed U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson’s (TX-03) measure to protect Social Security as part of its rules package for the 114th Congress (H. Res. 5).

“As Chairman of the Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee, I’m pleased to start the year off strong with this important and common-sense measure,” said Johnson. “Americans rely on the promise that Social Security will be there for them, especially individuals with disabilities, and my measure seeks to protect that promise.” Read more…
