How Much Could Medicare Beneficiaries Pay For a Hospital Stay Related to COVID-19?

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, a non-partisan source of facts and analysis, have analyzed how much Medicare beneficiaries could pay out-of-pocket for an inpatient hospital admission under traditional Medicare or Medicare Advantage plans if they were hospitalized due to COVID-19.  Although at this stage of the pandemic they do not have precise indicators of the length of stay for people admitted specifically for coronavirus, so they are using the average length of stay of 5 days for an adult with simple pneumonia with pleurisy and 7 days for an inpatient admission for pneumonia involving an ICU stay.
