How to spot a phone scam call

Every month, the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) receives about half a million complaints about unwanted calls, underlining how pervasive the whole phone scam problem has become. But, how do you know if a call is a scam when the caller ID shows as “Social Security Administration” or “Internal Revenue Service?”  Well, it isn’t easy, but this article by Casey Bond appearing at HuffPost.com provides an excellent tutorial on how to spot scam calls, and also offers advice on how to handle them.
