Is the trend toward early filing reversing?

Avoiding the impulse to file for Social Security as early as possible seems to be taking hold, according to the results of a Fidelity Investments survey. Financial journalist Dan Kadlec examines this emerging trend in an article posted today on time.com; he also recaps four areas where positive progress is still not being made, including understanding claiming strategies, timing of that first check, knowing one’s actual full retirement age (FRA), and understanding spousal benefits.

Kadlec’s article can be accessed here, and you should also know that the AMAC Foundation is equipped to help you navigate this and other complicated Social Security questions via its Social Security Advisory Service. Learn more about this free-to-the-public service on this page of the Social Security Report website.
