It’s time to fix Social Security’s financial issues
On the heels of the Trustee’s Report on Social Security, it’s time to look the problem squarely in the face and take action to fix it. Social Security’s two trust funds – Old Age & Survivors, and Disability – are now forecast to be exhausted in 2035 and 2028 respectively. While some might say that’s a long way off, it means that those in their 50’s today are facing the possibility of severely reduced benefits when their time to collect from a lifetime of contributing arrives.
