It’s time to re-think our credit reporting system
American consumers have no choice, but their personal data are amassed in the electronic files of the three major credit reporting firms – Equifax, Trans Union, and Experian. And as the recent massive data breach at Equifax revealed, those data are exposed to high-tech cyber criminals who are able to hack their way into the files, putting consumers at a very high risk of identity theft.
