Medicare and Hospice

Hospice, as most know, is an end-of-life caregiving service which offers comfort to terminally ill patients in their final days. An invaluable service to those in need, there are nevertheless expenses associated Hospice care and many of those expenses are covered by Medicare. There are some nuances depending upon whether the patient is on “original Medicare” or a Medicare Advantage plan, but most standard Hospice services will cost very little. There are, however, some end of life services which are not covered, and it’s important to know which service Medicare covers and which it does not.
