Medicare “Open Enrollment” Starts Soon. Know Your Options! - Forbes
Medicare’s so-called “Open Enrollment Period” starts soon – specifically on October 15th – and lasts until December 7th. This is the period each year when you get to change you current Medicare selection to another plan better suited to your personal needs, typically whether to stick with original Medicare” or switch to a Medicare Advantage plan. The first thing to do is ignore all of the ubiquitous TV and radio advertisements imploring you to call a number to “get everything you’re entitled to.” They are, basically, all trying to get you change from whatever you have to their plan, which may not actually be the best thing for you to do. Remember, those ads are marketing spots making promises which may sound good, but which will not necessarily be in your best long term interests.
