Memorial Day – A Time for Reflection
On this solemn day, we pause to reflect upon the ultimate sacrifice made by so many Americans. Earlier this month we celebrated Armed Forces Day honoring all currently serving in our armed forces, and in November we will celebrate Veterans Day to salute all those who have served our country in the past. Today, however, is that special day we remember all those who died fighting for our country. Don’t be surprised if, at 3:00 PM today, you hear a soulful rendition of Taps playing somewhere. At that time, take a moment to remember all those who never came home – sons and daughters; fathers and mothers; brothers and sisters – on this, the most solemn of all holidays honoring our American heroes.
