Misunderstandings about the Social Security program

An uncomfortably huge portion of American seniors simply don’t understand how the Social Security program works, which means that they could very well end up losing a considerable amount of the benefits available to them. Fully two-thirds of future retirees admit they aren’t comfortable that they really know how the program works, nor how it fits into their own future. Nevertheless, many of these people claim benefits as soon as they are eligible at age 62, leaving 10’s of thousands of dollars on the table.
