My Social Security Accounts have been around for several years at this point, and the Social Security Administration has routinely stressed the importance of establishing one as a means to interact effectively with them on matters pertaining to your individual participation in the program. Savvy Senior columnist Jim Miller, in a post on The Press of Atlantic City, explains that having an account “…will give you instant access to your personal Social Security statement so you can check your earning record and get estimates of your future retirement benefits at full retirement age, as well as at age 62 and age 70.” His post, which you can access here, provides some guidance in how to establish your account, but know that if you have any problems with the process, the AMAC Foundation’s Social Security Advisory Service stands ready to help you out.
