New blended retirement system to help Army soldiers

Beginning next year, all U.S. Army soldiers will have access to a new blended retirement system which includes not only long-career soldiers, but also those who serve for just a few years.  The new plan will give soldiers 3 options to choose from, including a defined benefit plan, a thrift savings plan, or a one-time continuation plan.  This is good news for many who previously served less than 20 years but left the military without a retirement plan.  This article by David Vergun appears at www.army.mil and explains the details.  Click here to read more.
