New data show a jump in 401(k) and IRA millionaires

Despite the COVID pandemic, many Americans’ retirement account balances have swelled to near-record levels. Fidelity found in the first quarter of 2021, the average balances across more than 30 million IRA, 401(k), and 403(b) retirement accounts reached record levels for the second consecutive quarter.
