New phone scam targeting seniors

With unfortunate predictability related to the national mailing of new Medicare cards this year, scammers are trying to bilk unsuspecting Medicare beneficiaries out of money using a new telephone scam. As this article by Cathy Locke appearing at The Sacramento Bee explains, Medicare will never call you about your forthcoming new card and there is never a reason to pay anything to obtain it, or to get a “temporary card” until the new one arrives.
