New Social Security card design to commemorate the 250th anniversary of our independence - Social Security Administration
The Social Security Administration has announced that babies born between July 2 and December 31, 2026 will receive a special and unique Social Security card emblazoned with a “Freedom 250” logo. New Social Security cards are issued to children through the “Enumeration at Birth” program. The new cards will function exactly the same as all other Social Security cards, but will provide unique identification for children born in the anniversary of the nation’s 250th year of independence.
