Thanks for contacting the AMAC Foundation. We are always sorry to learn of unfortunate experiences like the one you described, and we know that the COVID-19 situation and the closing of SSA offices to the public has made matters worse for many folks. We are not affiliated with the Social Security Administration, and our Social Security Advisory Service was able to quickly re-deploy staff and remain in operation without interruption, continuing to service 400-500 requests for assistance every month. You can learn more about our service here: https://amacfoundation.org/services.

If you have any further questions about Social Security, please feel free to give us a call. Our services are free to the public, and our goal is to respond immediately or, if additional research is needed, within a day. We are a public benefit cooperation, and we do not charge for our services.

Again thank you for contacting us!
