No, Illegal Immigrants cannot receive Social Security, but Legal Green Card Holders Can - En.as.com

There tends to be a lot of confusion about this. Some people tend to believe that illegal immigrants can receive Social Security benefits, but they cannot. Only immigrants who enter this country legally and have a valid green card allowing them to work in the United States can receive Social Security benefits.

Green card holders must earn Social Security benefits in the same manner as an American citizen. They need to earn 40 credits, like everyone else, to become eligible. Spouses can receive spousal benefits in some cases, regardless of whether or not they worked here, but they must meet certain requirements under international agreements with their country of origin and be legally present in this country.
