No new news in the latest Social Security Trustee’s Report

No news is good news, as the saying goes, and that’s especially true with the release today of the annual Trustee’s Report on the financial condition of the Social Security program, as related in this RealClearMarkets article by Henry Aaron. In the article, the author opines that the conclusions of the Trustees haven’t really changed much in the last several years, and that’s good news because Social Security’s finances at least haven’t worsened, still projected to not see the 3 trillion dollar reserves depleted until about 2034. According to the article’s author, the lack of new news in the Trustee’s Report probably means that Congress will continue its inaction until the Social Security program’s financial issues become more urgent.

AMAC has been at the forefront trying to strengthen Social Security by developing and proposing its Social Security Guarantee.  AMAC has been discussing and continues to discuss this common-sense solution with Congressional Representatives in its efforts to protect America’s senior citizens who rely on Social Security.  To review AMAC’s Social Security Guarantee, click here.
