Op-ed: Social Security’s Massive Malfeasance - AMAC & Forbes

Laurence Kotlikoff, Professor of Economics at Boston University, is a frequent contributor to the literature on Social Security. Writing here in Forbes, Kotlikoff is highly critical of other news outlets for missing much of the anachronistic facets to Social Security in their writings over the years. He scorns the way the program treats the disabled, widows, and survivors with very specific and concrete examples. “Social Security is a system of arcane rules within arcane rules within arcane rules.” He derides the Social Security Administration for issuing incomplete information in its annual letters that explain benefits to people. His main point is this: “I’m a huge supporter of Social Security’s legitimate objectives. It’s high time the System met them.” Full article here.
