Patrick Murphy-Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida Feud Continues

“We don’t want a war, we just want a primary,” the leader of a liberal Democratic group says in a letter to Democratic Rep. and 2016 Senate candidate Patrick Murphy after two days of slamming Murphy as a “Wall Street Democrat” and urging liberal Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson of Orlando to join the Senate race. Today’s letter from Democratic Progressive Caucus President Susan Smith comes a day after St. Lucie County Democratic Chairwoman Celeste Bush called the Progressive Caucus’ actions “disgraceful” and urged the Florida Democratic Party to “decertify” the caucus, which is chartered as an official branch of the state party….The Progressive Caucus organized a conference call criticizing Murphy on Monday, questioning among other things his commitment to protecting the bread-and-butter Democratic programs Social Security and Medicare.
