Everyone plans for a good retirement, planning out what they will do with all their free time, where they will go and what new hobbies they may pick up, but retirement rarely goes exactly as planned. It is a macabre thought, but old age brings in to play many variables that can negatively affect your health and, inadvertently, your finances and savings. This is where being prepared could save you from filing for Social Security early and missing out on longer term growths in benefits. The longer you can live off of savings the larger your benefits will grow. With the advanced ages that the average person is living to these days, every little bit helps in the long run.
