Elizabeth Bauer, a senior contributor for Forbes, admitted that she was “embarrassed that a radical change to our retirement system” escaped her notice. Included in the “Build Back Better” Budget Reconciliation bill, employers with five or more employees would have to offer a retirement plan and automatically enroll employees. Ms. Bauer advises although in some respects this would be similar to the autoenrollment plans now in operation or under implementation in a few states, there are some crucial differences.
