American radio personality Dave Ramsey, in a post on nasdaq.com, presented three common myths that can influence those looking ahead to the financial side of retirement planning. Beginning with the belief that Social Security alone will allow for a comfortable retirement and concluding with the belief that Social Security and Medicare will not change by the time they arrive at that point, Ramsey stresses the need for folks of all ages to seek assistance from qualified financial advisors to ensure a complete plan for their retirement years. His more subtle point is that personal accountability is key, rather than relying on government programs to pave the way for you.
