Rules on Disability

The disability portion of Social Security is a very important aspect to the program, yet most people have no idea how it works. People rarely have a need for this part of Social Security, but in unfortunate circumstances it can be a great safety net. One common question regarding the collection of disability benefits is if you are allowed to work while receiving them. In this regard, the disability program offers a great solution called the “Trial Work Period” in which you are allowed to attempt to go back to work while sending updates. If the trial shows that you cannot go back to work due to your disability then you are able to continue collecting benefits without reapplying.
