Sanders to Expand on Plans of FDR

In a recent speech by Bernie Sanders, he states that he wants to return to the ideas laid out by both Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson. Sanders brought up the problems facing retirees today, saying that too many enter retirement with little to no savings and cannot live off of their Social Security alone. He goes on to talk about poverty rates, particularly among children, and would see a return to a Johnson style “War on Poverty.” More of his speech is dedicated to the plights and decline of the middle class.
