Sen. Grassley Comments on Saul Firing

In a Q&A interview Sunday on kiow.com radio, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) offers commentary on President Biden’s recent firing of Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul. Grassley noted that despite Saul’s “overwhelming approval,” it appears that the basis for this termination is dissatisfaction expressed by Social Security Administration employees over Saul’s efforts to make the agency’s outreach to the public more “user friendly” and responsive. Grassley also expressed the opinion that Saul’s firing has the effect of politicizing what is intended to be a non-political part of the U.S. government.
