September 2026 Social Security Payments Schedule - USA Today
Regular Social Security payment dates are determined by your birth date. Payments are issued on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesdays of each month.
September Schedule:
- Wednesday, Sept. 9: Payments for those born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- Wednesday, Sept. 16: Payments for those born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- Wednesday, Sept. 23: Payments for those born between the 21st and 31st of the month.
If your scheduled payment day coincides with a holiday, you will receive your payment the day prior.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is dispensed on the first day of each month. Similar to regular Social Security payments, SSI payments will arrive the day before a holiday or weekend.
Additionally, some individuals who receive both SSI and Social Security Disability will see their payments issued on the 3rd of each month.

Did not receive September‘s SSI
Lisa:
I hope by now you have resolved the reason for not receiving your SSI check, or you have indeed received it.
Please know that our AMAC Foundation team takes great pride in answering many Social Security questions, but we are not connected to SSA’s systems or their personnel in order to obtain your personal information. This type of issue, non-receipt of an SSI check, must be reported to SSA. I hope your issue has been resolved or will be shortly.
I hope this answers your questions and provides some valuable guidance. Please don’t hesitate to contact us again by email or call our office at 1-888-750-2622 during our business hours, Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM.
