Significant Progress at SSA during 2025! - Social Security Administration

Long the target of disgruntled beneficiaries, headline seeking mainstream media, and some Congressional Representatives, the Social Security Administration has just provided a report on its accomplishments and progress in fiscal year 2025. The report, detailed in a letter to Congress by newly appointed Commissioner Frank Bisignano, shows considerable progress with the agency’s customer service objectives, including a substantial reduction in telephone wait times for those calling the agency, a similar reduction in wait times for those visiting the SSA, and a considerable reduction in the backlog of disability cases waiting to be determined, among others. A summary of the Commissioner’s report can be found at this SSA communications website, and the full text of the Commissioner’s report to Congress is available at a link within the summary. See the summary report here, and access Commissioner Bisignano’s report to Congress here.
