So, How Much do You Need to Retire?

For many folks, the goal was to have a million dollars available to sustain a comfortable retirement. That was considered the “gold standard,” and that still seems to be approximately the planning line for many. In fact, in a post on,The Motley Fool’s Kailey Hagen notes that “(a) recent Schwab survey asked 2,000 adults age 55 to 75 how much they’d saved for retirement, and their average answer was $920,400.” Ms. Hagen’s article takes a look at this expectation and how to manage around it, even if you can’t quite get to that level of incoming-creating assets.
