Social Security Disability, and the crushing backlog of open cases

There’s little question that applying for and receiving Social Security Disability Benefits can often seem like an exercise in futility, largely because of the length of time it takes to have your case initially reviewed, but especially to have an appealed denial adjudicated.  According to this Federal News Radio article by Tom Temin, there are about 1.1 million disability cases in the backlog awaiting judgement.  And while the Administration has already placed a high priority on reducing this backlog, it will take more than just process improvements to fix the problem.  Click here to read more.
