Social Security Disability Insurance trust fund – solvency issues and suggestions to fix

The Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) trust fund recently averted a short-term benefit shortfall which keeps it stable until 2023.  But the base problems – the exploding and excessive number of people now receiving disability benefits, and the lack of incentive for recipients to return to the workforce as soon as they’re able – have not been addressed.  This Heritage Foundation article by Rachel Greszler discusses the issues and offers suggestions to resolve them.  To read more, click here.
