Social Security expanding services in 2020
Starting in January 2020, Social Security offices nationwide will be open on Wednesday afternoon, replacing the old operating hours which had offices closing Wednesdays at 2:00 PM. And also in 2020, Social Security will be adding about 1,100 “front line” employees to better serve the public at its processing centers and the National 800 service telephone center. All of this was announced by the Commissioner of Social Security and reported in Maryland’s Bay Times and Record Observer.
