Social Security fraud: online reporting now available

With a commitment to reduce the amount of Social Security fraud, the Office of the Inspector General has announce a new online form with which to report telephone scams and any other fraudulent activity connected to Social Security. Telephone scams have become pervasive across the nation and are successful in bilking far too many seniors out of their benefits. Similarly, fraudulent activity such as using someone else’s SSN or illegally filing for a Social Security refund from someone else’s account continues to drain the program’s resources. To combat this illegal activity, there is now a simple way to report suspected scams or fraud, as explained in this article from the Social Security Administration and published in the (Indiana) Pharos Tribune.
