Social Security Scammers Still On The Prowl

In these electronic-centric times we live in, it seems there is no end to the nefarious methods cyber criminals will resort to in order to scam you out of your money. The latest method is to use fake ID badges to make themselves appear legitimate and convince you to trust them as they work their scam. The basic rule to follow is this – don’t trust any unsolicited call you get from anyone claiming to be from Social Security (or, for that matter, any other government agency), even if they show you a picture of an ID badge from that agency. Just hang up, and report the contact to Social Security’s Office of the Inspector General, as described in this article appearing at the St. Thomas Source website.
