Social Security’s Future Financial Woes

In this somewhat paradoxical and tongue-n-cheek account, author Tom Purcell describes a fictional conversation with a CPA about Social Security’s financial woes. Despite his humorous approach, the author tackles a very serious subject – the Social Security program needs Congressional action in order to continue meeting it’s future obligations. But will Congress act? Mr. Purcell doesn’t seem particularly optimistic but reality is that they must act, and act soon to prevent benefit cuts in less than 2 decades. Mr. Purcell’s article about the looming Social Security crisis appears at TribLive.com.

AMAC has been at the forefront trying to strengthen Social Security by developing and proposing its Social Security Guarantee.  AMAC has been discussing and continues to discuss this common-sense solution with Congressional Representatives in its efforts to protect America’s senior citizens who rely on Social Security.  To review AMAC‘s Social Security Guarantee, click here.
