SSA Takes a Step Into AI Training Mode

Social Security Administration employees are being asked to use a generative AI chatbot in their routine tasks, with a prerequisite that they watch a 4-minute video on the tool known as the “Agency Support Companion.” While the training might be a good thing, an article by David Gilbert on WIRED points out that there is a significant flaw (omission, actually) in the video. It fails to emphasize the importance of excluding personally identifiable information (PII) from all chat sessions. Check out the Gilbert article here for more thoughts on how the tool is being accepted by SSA workers.
