Statement from Kilolo Kijakazi, Acting Commissioner of Social Security, about Agency Reentry

A Press Release on the SSA.gov website this week reported that the agency has “… successfully reached agreement with our three labor unions on our reentry plan.” The full press release can be read here…

Left unsaid in the press release is the actual anticipated date for the re-opening of offices; however, a news release by Federal News Network notes that “The American Federation of Government Employees, meanwhile, has reached an agreement with SSA that would return 45,000 employees to the office on March 30.” The Federal News Network also noted that the March 30 date is “subject to changes in pandemic conditions and further negotiations with agency components.” Read their post here…
