There is really no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of when to file for Social Security benefits, other than never waiting until after your 70th birthday. Many financial advisors will suggest unequivocally to delay to you full retirement age or beyond to maximize benefits, and that’s often a good strategy, but there are sound arguments for filing early.
