The Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act - Stateline

According to a federal report, 366 hospitals nationwide participated in the Acute Hospital Care at Home program, which allows patients who would otherwise be hospitalized to receive care at home with a combination of healthcare providers and medical technology.  During the government shutdown, it forced a pause in the Medicare program, and it may face another in January if budget negotiations break down again. H.R. 4313, the Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives and is awaiting consideration by the Senate, would extend the program until 2030.  Tim Henderson, writing for Stateline, explains why this bill is needed.
