The Ongoing Saga of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” - CBSNews

H.R. 1 – The One Big Beautiful Bill Act of the 119th Congress – passed in the House of Representatives last month and is now in the U.S. Senate for deliberation prior to sending to the Executive Branch for enactment. There have been, of course, some accusations that the bill will affect Medicare, but those accusations have been largely debunked. In reality, H.R. 1 – the so-called “one, big, beautiful bill” -does not affect Medicare nor cut the benefits thereof, as discussed by White House National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett on Sunday’s Face the Nation broadcast. However if, while considering H.R. 1, the Senate finds any areas of suspected Medicare fraud or waste, then the Administration would, of course, investigate those. Makes sense, logically, for the Administration to look at any instances of fraud or abuse anywhere in the Government, as it has already been doing since President Trump was inaugurated.
