Brenton Smith, in a post on  www.marketwatch.com, takes an in-depth look at the Social Security solvency dilemma, calling to question the premise that all looks well through 2034. Smith’s article describes what he terms “a serious misconception about the data provided by Social Security’s trustees and how that information fits into the discussion of the program’s future,” noting that the annual Social Security Trustees Reports show what  “might happen over decades in a synthetic economy built on a framework of economic assumptions.” Read his post here…
