The Scammers Are Hard At Work, Scheming to Get Your Money

As the saying goes, never let a crisis go to waste (or something like that). And that’s a motto that is driving a whole new set of swindlers and con men to your door (and likely to your keyboard). The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is warning citizens to be on guard, noting that reports of hoax text messages and nefarious robocalls are picking up steam across the country as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds. And with a sizeable size of the $2.2 trillion stimulus package wending its way to the public in the form of economic impact payments, there is fertile ground for the scammers to ply their trade.
