Thoughts on Growing Your Social Security Benefit

If you’re looking ahead to drawing your earned Social Security benefits, you certainly should create a mySocialSecurity account with the Social Security Administration (SSA).  If you don’t already have a “my Social Security account,” it’s an easy and quick process to create one, and you can do that via this site: https://www.ssa.gov/myaccount. And when you have your account set up, you’ll be able to see what SSA has projected your eventual base benefit to be. That would be a great starting point for planning your retirement financial picture, but you should know that there are steps you can take to increase your projected monthly benefit higher.
