‘Tis the Season…For Scams That Just Won’t Go Away

While most of us scramble to get ready for what we hope will be a peaceful, restful, and uplifting Christmas Season, rest assured that the scammers and fraudsters are doing an equal amount of scrambling. In some case, just following the “if it’s too good to be true, it likely isn’t” test, but some of the swindle artists have developed crafty approaches that open the door to unsuspecting folks being outright cheated. Many of these approaches tug at the heartstrings of those who are inclined to support charitable purposes, and that’s a good thing, but diligence is still required for self-protection.
