Tribal Leaders Equal Access to Social Security
Tribal populations are at a significant disadvantage in preparing for retirement. To correct this longstanding inequity, U.S. Senators John Thune (R-SD) and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) introduced the Tribal Social Security Fairness Act that would allow tribal governments to opt into Social Security, pay the related taxes, and receive the retirement program’s benefits.
