Trust fund may be depleted earlier than thought

A newly release assessment by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has projected that the Social Security Trust Funds may be depleted years earlier than expected, forcing cuts to Social Security benefits beginning in 2030.  This, of course, is if Congress does not take action soon to improve the program’s fiscal outlook.  This article by Hazel Bradford of Pensions & Investments appears at their website and explains the CBO’s new projections.  Click here to read more.
